Mom Souq, UAE’s online classified for niche baby and children’s products, is gearing up to host and celebrate the second edition of the Cardboard Challenge Day in Dubai.
Organized by Mom Souq in this region, the Cardboard Challenge will take place on 5 October 2013, and will be held at the Change Initiative Store in Dubai, UAE, from 10am to 2pm.
The story of this challenge begins with an enterprising 9-year-old boy named Caines who created an arcade made out of used cardboard boxes in his father’s auto parts store in Boyle Heights, Los Angles, USA. The arcade became famous when a filmmaker, Nirvan Mullick, became its first customer and got inspired to make a short film about it. As a result of the phenomenal response towards the movie, a movement named the Imagination Foundation was formed to find, foster, and fund creativity and entrepreneurship in kids around the world.
The Global Cardboard Challenge is an initiative launched by the Imagination foundation that brings communities together to celebrate the creativity and imagination of children around the world.
A perfect opportunity for children and their families to be creative and crafty using reusable items, the Cardboard Challenge Day is a global event, officially also known as the Caine’s Arcade’s global Cardboard Challenge Day. It is an event where kids around the world are encouraged to use their imagination to create their favorite game out of cardboard. The challenge not only allows children to present their masterpiece but also allows families to have fun and play with the creations of other kids for free on this day.
Last year’s feedback was amazing there were castles, kitchens, robots, basketball etc. Mom Souq’s event in Dubai was chosen to be featured in the Voice of America amongst all the other participants from more than 115 events happening simultaneously around the world. They also arranged an interview with 2 of our kids who came with exceptional items out of cardboard.
